Madeleine McKenzie

Madeleine McKenzie is an Associate at Aaron Halegua, PLLC, where she represents workers in forced labor and human trafficking cases, as well as in wage and hour and employment discrimination matters. She also regularly advises employees in severance and other employment negotiations. Before joining the firm, Madeleine was a Legal Fellow at the Center for Justice & Accountability. She also previously lived and worked in Beijing, China for nearly two years as an Educational Consultant.

Madeleine holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. in Political Science from Vassar College. As a law student, Madeleine was the Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Human Rights Journal and a Student Attorney with the International Human Rights Clinic. She speaks, reads, and writes French.

Angie Liao

Angie joined Aaron Halegua, PLLC as an Associate in March 2025. She was previously an associate at a union- and worker-side labor and employment law firm based in New York City, and a research associate at the Climate Jobs Institute at Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations. Angie has experience representing workers in wage and hour as well as forced labor and human trafficking class action lawsuits, and representing individual clients in employment discrimination cases, severance negotiations, and grievance arbitrations. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Angie was a union organizer for the American Federation of Teachers, Michigan.

Angie holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.A. with a concentration in Human Rights and Human Expression from New York University. As a law student, Angie was a member of the Worker and Immigrant Rights Advocacy Clinic and an extern with the New Haven Legal Assistance Association Employment Law Unit. She also served as the Political Action Chair of Yale Law’s Women of Color Collective and Asian/Pacific American Law Students Association. Angie speaks, reads, and writes Mandarin Chinese and French.
